FIFA Players’ Status Committee in a Nutshell

The Players’ Status Committee shall set up and monitor compliance with the Regulations on the Status and Transfer of Players and determine the status of Players for various Fédération Internationale de Football Association (“FIFA”) competitions. Its powers of jurisdiction are governed by the Regulations on the Status and Transfer of Players.

The procedure will be in accordance with the Rules Governing the Procedures of the Players’ Status Committee and the Dispute Resolution Chamber.

The Players’ Status Committee shall also be responsible for the work of the Dispute Resolution Chamber in accordance with the Regulations on the Status and Transfer of Players and the Rules Governing the Procedures of the Players’ Status Committee and the Dispute Resolution Chamber.

In case of uncertainty as to the jurisdiction of the Players’ Status Committee or the Dispute Resolution Chamber, the chairman of the Players’ Status Committee shall decide which body has jurisdiction.

The Players’ Status Committee shall adjudicate in the presence of at least three members, including the chairman or the deputy chairman, unless the case is of such a nature that it may be settled by a single judge. Decisions
reached by the single judge or the Players’ Status Committee may be appealed before the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
